Rhode Island Foundation Scholarships

The Rhode Island Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the following three awards:

* The Rhode Island Commission on Women/Freda Goldman Education Award 

* The Bruce and Majorie Sundlun Scholarship

* The Frances L. Macartney Porter Fund

The Rhode Island Commission on Women/Freda Goldman Education Award provides financial assistance to women in pursuit of continuing education, including a Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED) or post-secondary school education, whether an academic, trade, or vocational program. Awards may be granted for services (child care, transportation, books, etc.) to assist Rhode Island women who are completing their first degree or certificate program.  Preference is given to highly motivated, self-supporting low-income women. Previous winners may reapply.

The Bruce and Majorie Sundlun Scholarship benefits low income single parents (men or women) seeking to upgrade their potential career skills returning to school. Preference is given to parents currently or previously receiving public assistance, or those who have been previously incarcerated.

Deadline for application submission is May 13, 2016 by 5 p.m. (EST). To apply for either of these scholarships, please click here.

The Frances L. Macartney Porter Fund, seeks applications who meet the following criteria:
·    Rhode Island resident
·    Single Parent
·    Preference given to individuals enrolled in trade schools
The award amount varies.
