JOB SUMMARY
Candidate will be immersed in all aspects of a growing CPA firm specializing in tax and tax planning. They will be interacting with staff as well as clients, preparing a multitude of tax returns and schedules (individual, small business, nonprofit, and trusts/estates). Additionally, the candidate will be expected to service clients with bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services outside of tax season. This is a growing CPA firm and the ideal candidate will undertake many duties and be expected to grow a book of business on an eventual CPA track.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tax Season (January – April): Assist in preparation of individual, corporate, trust/estate, etc. tax returns

Off Season (April-December): Nonprofit and extended tax return preparation, bookkeeping for existing clients, year-end wrap up and informational reporting compliance (i.e. W-2, 1099s, etc.), tax planning with individual and business clients, client advisory services, payroll deposits and reporting compliance, IRS and various state conflict resolution, continuing education and networking opportunities

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
-Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
-Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends.
-Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs. We use a variety of software suites so the expectation is simply a high level of comfort using technology.
-Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of staff, and more importantly, with clients.

An entrepreneurial minded individual looking for a different track than the usual big/regional public accounting firms.  Our small growing firm allows individuals to be fully immersed in servicing our clients from initial engagement through final resolution. Office Assistant:

Seeking a sophomore or junior college student, preferably with an accounting, nursing, healthcare, general business or Supply Chain major to function as Office Assistant in a busy long term care facility.
Responsibilities include:
  • answering telephones
  • managing daily mail
  • filing
  • processing new resident and new employee information
  • maintaining records
  • assisting administrator and director of nursing with their daily agenda
  • assisting in business operations such as accounts payable and management of the medical supply inventory system.
Some responsibilities of this position are flexible and can be tailored to fit a strong candidate’s skill set. Once assimilated to the role, a specific project can be laid out for a candidate seeking internship credits.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

CBA/PSFA will award scholarships for the 2018 Exams

CBA will award scholarships to several Finance majors who plan to take the CFA Exam Level I in June or December 2018.  The scholarship includes the exemption of the CFA program enrollment fee and a discount of the exam registration fee that are worth $800.

To be eligible for a scholarship, you must be a full-time junior, senior finance major or graduate student.  Decision will be based on the information on your application, your scholastic standings, and an interview.

The application deadline is December 1, 2017 for the June 2018 exam, and April 1, 2018 for the December 2018 exam.  Hard copies of the application form are available at the reception desk on the 3rd floor at the Ballentine Hall.

The Accounting intern will be responsible for providing overall support to multiple Accounting functions including month-end closes processes, Accounts Payable, Job Cost, Payroll and year-end audit support.  This position is a paid internship and will assist members of the Accounting Department in both daily and weekly activities, such as coding and entering invoices, reconciling vendor accounts, producing plant and job cost reports, and special projects.  The internship program at Cardi allows students to gain experience and insight into the business processes and operations of Cardi business segments including:
