Overview
This role will be split between the Health & Wellness program and the Community Impact Program in West Kingston, RI.  Weekly hours dedicated to each program will vary depending on activity level and annual program calendars.  The ideal candidate will be a well organized, outgoing, and driven individual with proven event coordination experience and interest in the areas of health & wellness and/or corporate social responsibility.  Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.

Job Summary
The Health & Wellness Intern is responsible for participating in and supporting the West Kingston local Health & Wellness team. Essential functions will include assisting in logistic coordination, communication/promotion, and administration of West Kingston Health & Wellness events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate logistics, prepare communications, and assist in promoting for West Kingston Health & Wellness events such as blood drives, reflexology, gym discounts, and others.
  • Administer and analyze Health & Wellness satisfaction/participation surveys
  • Monitoring of the Health & Wellness page on internal collaboration tool (SPICE) and respond to relevant posts

Community ImpACT Intern Job Description


Job Summary
The Community Impact Program is Schneider Electric’s local community Outreach program, focused primarily on our Rhode Island community, with some programs available to five IT Business Unit US facilities. The Community Impact Intern is responsible for the coordination and daily administrative support for the Community Impact Program in the US, primarily focused in West Kingston. Essential functions will include daily administrative support to lead program coordinator and program managers, coordination of logistics and event coordination and program marketing and data collection.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Updating CI Hallway advertisements & communications
  • Coordination/logistics for annual community service day for 300 employees (internal advertisement, registration, volunteer assignments, food and beverage, etc)
  • Logistics coordination of Annual Recognition Dinner
  • Design and implement campaign to recruit council members
  • Partner with Public Relations department for event announcements and annual report
  • Work with Web Program Manager to create and maintain internal and external sites

Slater Mill - Marketing Intern

Company Info:

Slater Mill, a national historic landmark and museum located at 67 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, seeks a college-level intern to assist with the development of a marketing plan and marketing materials to promote its public tours and programs. Located on the Blackstone River in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Slater Mill is a museum complex dedicated to bringing the American Industrial Revolution to life.

Internship Info:

Intern shall research and develop a marketing plan for Slater Mill, in consultation with the Associate Director of Membership and Development and the Consulting Program Coordinator, under the supervision of the Executive Director.

Marketing plan shall consider the following elements:
  •             Traditional media (print, radio, cable television)
  •             Postings (flyers, posters, rack cards)
  •             Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc.)
  •             Online calendars (Pawtucket Happenings, GoLocal Providence, RI Tourism sites, etc.)
  •             Social marketing sites (Groupon, Living Social, etc.)
  •             Slater Mill Website
  •             Direct mailings to SM members and contacts
  •             Published Slater Mill Newsletter
Internship Details:


Intern shall develop a proposed plan for marketing of Slater Mill tour programs and special events to incorporate  the above elements and others as appropriate, based on museum operating schedule, and program calendar timeline.

Intern shall conduct inventory of existing programs and events and associated marketing materials, advise on marketing strategies for current events and programs based on this information.and make recommendations for retaining or discontinuing current practices based on modern marketing principles.

Intern shall research current social media applications, advise on suitability/applicability for Slater Mill demographic and reach, and beta-test applications on behalf of Slater Mill.

Intern shall assist with marketing of events and programs, mailings and outreach campaigns implemented during the time the internship is being served.

Intern shall attend relevant meetings with staff as required.

Qualifications:

Business, Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications majors encouraged to apply.

Hours: 

Flexible on a Monday through Friday schedule.  Slater Mill office hours at 9am to 5pm
Attendance for observation/participation at special events or programs off-hours may be necessary.
Compensation:  qualifies for college credit
