Metcalf Institute Internship in Donor Research and Development
This internship is available to one URI undergraduate student for the Summer 2016 and one for the Fall 2016 semester.

The Metcalf Institute Development Intern will assist staff in researching and organizing funding information in support of Metcalf programs and initiatives, including the following possible tasks: develop research criteria for various Metcalf funding needs; learn how to effectively use data management tools; use social media for development research; draft research reports.

The Metcalf Development Intern will work in a professional office; learn and develop applied research skills; interact with professional journalists and scientists; practice strategic social media research skills; attend a Metcalf Institute Advisory Board meeting; and learn how professional training is supported in this URI setting.

​This is an On-Campus Student Employment (OCSE) opportunity at the University of Rhode Island.     ​

Qualifications
A strong candidate for the Metcalf Development Intern will need an interest in understanding how non-profit organizations obtain financial support; be academically responsible and computer literate (we are an all-Mac office); have strong research, organizational and interpersonal skills; have working knowledge of social media; be detail-oriented; and have own transportation.

Internship Periods and Credits
The Metcalf Institute Development Internship is offered for one intern per semester. The Intern may register for the number of credits and work the credit hours per week that fits his/her academic program needs. Visit http://web.uri.edu/career/ for more information.
