URI AEC - Graduate Assistant

Graduate Student Position at The Academic Enhancement Center
Spring 2017
Up to 20 hours per week
Learning Support - Graduate Student The Academic Enhancement Center is offering an up to 20 hour per week position (based on programming needs) open to graduate students at URI. The position runs through the Spring 2017 semester, with the possibility of renewal in subsequent years.

This position does not offer a tuition waiver.

The expected pay rate is $23.87 per hour.

Description
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of the Academic Enhancement Center, the graduate student will assist with some or all of the following, according to program needs:
● Outreach to students, faculty and staff, including in-class workshops and presentations.
● Collaboration and correspondence with faculty, students and professional staff.
● Supervision, training, and evaluation of undergraduate tutoring staff.
● Data collection and analysis, program assessment and evaluation.
● Office management functions, including assisting with the reception function.
● Program and project planning and development.

Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will be a matriculating graduate student at the University of Rhode Island.

Strongly preferred:
Experience in teaching or tutoring at college level.
Demonstrated understanding of effective study skills.
Experience supervising students or staff.
Comfort communicating with faculty.

Preferred:
Experience in data management and analysis.
Experience in office management.
Demonstrated success in project collaboration.
Ability to work at least one evening per week until 8 pm.
