Position – Summer Accounting Intern
The Summer Internship Program will begin in mid-June and
last approximately 10 weeks. Qualified candidates for the position of intern
should have a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0. Candidates should be an outgoing person with
a strong desire to pursue a career in public accounting. Interns are supervised by managers, senior
accountants and other, more experienced staff accountants. Initially, they are given less complex
accounting and tax assignments. As they gain experience, they are given more
difficult assignments. Over the course of the summer, we will also provide
professional development sessions to enhance your employment experience.
Essential Functions:
- Become familiar with firm policies and
procedures.

Understand
the rules, requirements, and code of conduct of the AICPA, and the
authoritative literature established by the FASB and GASB.
3.
Obtain a
working knowledge of tax and accounting research techniques and the various research
sources of the firm’s library.
4.
Obtain a
working knowledge of firm technology, including the use of e-mail, the
Internet, spreadsheets and tax software.
5.
Become
proficient in the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary
and other tax forms.
6.
Assume
responsibility for completion of assignments.
7.
Perform
assigned audit, review and compilation procedures under the supervision of more
experienced staff.
8.
Develop good
work habits.
9.
Learn to
work effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
10.
Get involved
in some structured FUN activities!
Training:
In addition to our week long
initial training and on the job training, the candidate will receive computer training
with our IT Manager as well as ongoing use of firm related software.
The
program includes many fun activities, including summer outing, community
service, intern outings, and many more!!
Plus we have 1/2 day Fridays in the summer and casual dress!!

2017 Accounting graduates for our summer
intern positions.
