The Rhode Island Foundation and Avivar Capital are looking for an Impact Investing Fellow for the summer of 2018 and academic year of 2018-2019. During the summer, the Fellow would intern fulltime in Los Angeles with the Avivar Capital class of Summer Associates and during the academic year would work 1 day or 8 hours a week with the Rhode Island Foundation in Providence supporting pipeline development, due diligence, and portfolio management efforts for the Foundation’s impact investing portfolio.
Qualifications Alignment with both Rhode Island Foundation and Avivar Capital’s mission and values Currently working on or completed an MBA or master’s degree in a related field (business, law, economics, international development, etc.) Minimum 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in finance, consulting, accounting, law, or a related field Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects independently as well as complete assignments timely and accurately Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little oversight Team player with positive attitude and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
