Summary/Purpose of Position
Under the leadership and direction of staff
within the International Department, this semester long internship will offer
the opportunity for a student to gain process improvement experience by working
on a green belt level project for a leading global medical device company.
The International department is responsible for growing global business reach of Davol product offerings. This intern will provide support and customer service for internal cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is highly motivated to grow within the organization in the future, and thrives in an environment of creativity and accountability.

This individual will lead the DMAIC problem
solving process as it relates to expanding PRM process to bring new products to
additional international markets. In addition this individual will gain
exposure to international business, product development, QA/RA systems, and
commercial strategy.
The International Intern will participate in dating gathering and analysis, daily meetings with management, quarterly all employee meetings, attend other company meetings, and will have the opportunity to participate in several 1:1 meetings with the leadership at Davol to discuss career options in the medical device field.
This is a paid position.
Essential Duties and Position
Responsibilities
· Complete the DMAIC process and associated
phase-gates
· Present results and recommendations to
management for each step of the process
· Attend and participate in team meetings
· Other assignments as necessary
Knowledge
and Skills
Formal Education:
§ Business major or
equivalent undergrad or masters level program (e.g. MBA)
Specialized
Skills:
§ Excellent personal
communication skills
§ Must have the ability to
work on several projects simultaneously
§ Must be comfortable
working in a fast paced environment of
accountability
§ Must be able to analyze
data/make data based recommendations
§ Strong organizational
skills and detail oriented
§ Understanding of
Microsoft Office Software applications and web based systems a plus
§ Exceptional drive to
pursue a career in medical device
