Graduate Student Position at The Academic Enhancement Center 2016-17

Up to 20 hours per week

Learning Support Programs Assistant
The Academic Enhancement Center is offering an up to 20 hour per week position (based on budget and programming needs) open to graduate students at URI. The position runs through the 2016-2017 academic year, with the possibility of renewal in subsequent years. This position does not offer a tuition waiver. The expected pay rate is $22.01 per hour.
Description

Under the supervision of the Director of the Academic Enhancement Center, the graduate student will assist professional learning support program coordinators with some or all of the following, according to program needs:
  •   Outreach to students, faculty and staff, including in-class workshops and presentations, correspondence and collaboration with faculty, students and professional staff, outreach and marketing via social media, assistance with AEC staff development.
  •   Supervision, assessment and evaluation of undergraduate tutoring staff.
  •   Data collection and analysis, program assessment and evaluation.
  •   Academic coaching/learning skills developmental assistance to undergraduate students
  •   Office management functions, including reception.
  •   Program and project planning and development


    Qualifications:
    The qualified candidate will be a matriculating graduate student at the University of Rhode Island. 
    Strongly preferred: Experience in teaching or tutoring at college level. Demonstrated understanding of effective study skills. Demonstrated success in project collaboration. Ability to work at least one evening per week until 8 pm. 
    Preferred: Experience in data management and analysis. Experience supervising students or staff. Experience in office management.
